| I went to a workshop conducted by Shazz (a plus size voice and lifestyle coach) previously, she recomended Nivea Extra Whitening Cream. I am now in the process of using that for the dark patches in between my thighs, so far so good. Some of the girls whom have been using it commented that it sure is effective. But I personally believe that lightening of these patches can be done via a combination of a few methods.
(1) Make an effort to scrub the dark patches at least once a month. Wherever these patches maybe, they are still our skin. And like the face, they are prone to have debris and perspiration clog, bacteria infection, etc. Scrubbing will allows us to clear out the pores and dirt.
(2) Always attempt to keep your dark patches dry especially so if its at the armpits or inner thighs. Put on a deodorant, Gatsby odorless deodorant works for me. And as for inner thighs, avoid wearing skirts so that your inner thighs will not rub against each other, causing greater damage.
(3) Put on the lightening cream every night before going to sleep and try to sleep around 11am (that’s when most of our bodily repairs happens, but may vary for different people).
(4) Drink plenty of water. Regardless, water is always good for health.
More than just dark patches…
If you think you have a worse problem than just dark patches, consult your doctor. Like me, my inner thighs’ dark patches are caused by friction and will sometimes have really fungal infection (which I am very prone to). Doctors usually will be able to prescribe some cream to curb fungal infection. So firstly, we need to find out what’s wrong, have a cure for it, then proceed to control and beautify.
My doctor usually prescribes me Travocort cream, its a steroid cream and should not be used excessively. But when its bad, I use that. It has definitely worked very well. I stock up on them and swears by it! Bring them along to hot hot countries where I know I will perspire alot and am more prone to fungal infections. Otherwise, on a daily maintenance basis, I use Vagisil Feminine Wash or Sastid Anti-Fungal Soap to wash my thighs. They help to disinfect and keeps it fresh and dry. And I am religious to the above 4 steps. They just work together!
Here is a very good article on the long and short of Fungal Infection.
