Who Is Behind B.A.B.?

Well, it’s me! I am a B.A.B. girl myself! haha. I have been plus size the whole of my life. I am also a very vain girl. Although I am lazy but I would like to dress up and look pretty when the occassion arises. You can find out more about me at my blog: www.ericasim.com. There’s also a sleeping partner who is just the opposite of me! A small sized guy! Hahah..he prefers to remain anonymous.

Why B.A.B.?

Being a girl in the modern society especially in my nature of work (p.s.: I am a creative consultant), I need and love to dress up! I love shopping too! But in Singapore, where most of the ladies here are either genetically small size or consciously keeting fit, it’s hard to find plus size clothings. As the saying goes, when there’s a demand, there’s a supply! There are some shops out there but they are so stereotyped. Being plus size, doesn’t mean…

• have to wear gaudy clothes
• have to wear only black or dark colours for that matter
• have to wear clothes that don’t bring out or enhance our lines and figures
• have to wear clothes that are plain

The Birth Of B.A.B.

So there you go, I have had it! Although plus size, but I will love to:

• wear nice fitting clothes with good cutting that enhances my figure
• wear colourful and bright clothes
• wear prints
• wear stylised clothes that is in the season

So…I thought…why not I sell my own clothes. While shopping for the clothes myself, I am actually shopping for people alike in this community.

A Community More Of A Business

To me, B.A.B. is more of a community than a business! It’s very touching when I see comments that come from other plus size individuals, them sharing their woes in buy clothes, inspiring me, etc. At B.A.B., we will try our best to be as “wholesome” as possible. Apart from selling clothes, I will also be featuring and sharing interesting articles, where to shop, where to have fun, do you know, and how to, etc. So it’s informative on one hand as well. E.g.: how to wear black, how to mix and match, and many more…so stay tuned!

Where Do Our Stock Come From?

We work together with Artiris, a local designer who produces the design and manufactures the clothes. We also go around to the different countries, such as Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and some other later on to buy the clothes.

One thing you can rest assured about, the clothes that we sell here at B.A.B. is definitely clothes that I personally love! I wear them, I sell them. And being a creative consultant, you can have a piece of mind in personal preferences, although this may not quite match up sometimes.
